Baptism
Ready to take the step?
A public step that says you belong to Jesus.
We believe God’s Word calls every believer to be baptized by immersion. Baptism doesn’t save you. It’s a beautiful picture of your faith in Jesus and your union with Him, who was crucified, buried and raised to life.
“We too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4
If you’ve trusted Christ and haven’t been baptized yet, we’d love to talk with you about it. Leave your name and a way to reach you, and someone from Sonrise will be in touch.
Baptized before?
We’d love to hear your story.
Many people at Sonrise were baptized somewhere else first. A believer’s baptism follows faith in Jesus, the eternal Son of God, who saves us by grace through faith alone. Baptism doesn’t save anyone. It’s a picture of a salvation that’s already yours.
As a believer, by immersion
That baptism stands, wherever it happened, and there’s no need to be baptized again. We’d still love to hear how you came to trust Jesus.
As a baby
The people who brought you meant it in love. Believer’s baptism is the step that follows your own faith in Jesus, and we’d be glad to talk with you about it.
As a Latter-day Saint
If you were baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS, or Mormon), we want to say this clearly and kindly. LDS baptism comes from a different understanding of who God is, who Jesus is, and how we are saved. That’s why the LDS church baptizes people who join it from other churches, and it’s why we invite you to be baptized as a believer.
For most people, it isn’t being baptized again. It’s being baptized as a believer for the first time. Your earlier baptism may have been sincere, and the people around you meant it in love. This isn’t about that. It’s about your new life in Christ.
