In Mark 15:16–32, we witness the King of Glory handed over to cruelty—mocked in purple, crowned with thorns, struck, spat on, and marched to Golgotha under a title meant to shame Him: “King of the Jews.”
The world calls it weakness. Mark shows us something else: power under control. Jesus could have stopped it. He could have come down. But He stayed—because saving Himself would have meant losing us.

This passage confronts every heart that says, “God, prove Yourself on my terms.” The crowds demanded a performance. Jesus gave Himself. He was numbered with transgressors so sinners could be welcomed into mercy.

If you’re a believer, don’t trade truth for comfort. Don’t follow the crowd when truth gets costly. And if you’ve never trusted Christ, hear this clearly: the King stayed on the cross for you. Today, don’t mock—repent and believe.
