35-"Jericho: Submission & Sacrifice"

At Jericho — a city of wealth and need — Jesus reveals the heart of His mission.

First, in Luke 19:1–10, Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector, climbs a sycamore tree to see Jesus. Though despised by the crowd, he is seen, called by name, and saved — declaring restitution and proving the power of repentance.

Then, in Mark 10:46–52, Bartimaeus cries out: “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Though rebuked by the crowd, he persists, throws off his cloak, and finds both sight and salvation.

Together, these Jericho encounters show us that Jesus seeks the lost, saves the sinner, and opens blind eyes. Both the rich man and the beggar follow Him on the way to the cross.
