49-Mark: "When the World Went Dark: The Death of Jesus"

In Mark 15:33–47, the mockery fades and the meaning of the cross comes into full view. Darkness falls at midday. Jesus cries out the opening of Psalm 22—prayer, prophetic signal, and suffering laid bare. He gives up His life on His terms—“It is finished.” And then the impossible happens: the temple veil is torn from top to bottom, the barrier between sinners and a holy God ripped open by God Himself.

This is not weakness. This is power under control—the King staying on the cross because love would not let Him come down. As we watch the centurion confess, “Truly this Man was the Son of God,” we’re confronted with a question we cannot dodge: What will we do with Jesus?

If you’re a believer, draw near with confidence—Christ has opened the way. If you’re not, don’t stay at a distance. Step through the torn veil while mercy still speaks.
