I am a Church Member (Part 2): Praying & Serving

Oct 19, 2025    Pastor Christopher Thompson

This message explores biblical prayer (Matthew 6:5–13) and Christ-like service (Philippians 2:5–8; Mark 10:45). Prayer isn’t performance—it’s communion with the Father (Matt 6:5–6; Ps 51:17). Jesus teaches us a pattern for prayer that aligns our desires with God’s will (Matt 6:9–13; Luke 22:42; 1 John 5:14–15).

Then we look at the mindset of humble service—Christ did not come to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). As His people, we pray privately and serve faithfully so the world sees His heart through us (Phil 2:5–8).

Big “C” vs little “c”: If you’re in Christ, these traits should increasingly mark your life—pray with sincerity and serve with humility.

Response: Trust Jesus, commit to daily prayer, and step into service—home, church, and community.
