BUILDING FOR THE KINGDOM

41-Mark: “Two Coins, One Great Faith.” -Sermon

In this week’s message from Mark 12:28-44, we watch Jesus move through the Temple, facing one challenge after another, from the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the scribes. Then one scribe asks the question that cuts to the heart of faith: “Which is the greatest commandment?”
Jesus’ answer reveals what all religion, ritual, and sacrifice were pointing toward: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. This passage exposes the emptiness of outward religion and calls us to wholehearted devotion. We end where Jesus did, with a widow who gave everything she had, showing what genuine faith looks like in action.
Join Pastor Christopher Thompson as we explore what it means to love God completely and love people sincerely in today’s world.
