This week we begin our new series The Christian Life. Our guide will be the Apostle Peter, who some thirty years after walking with the Savior would sit down and write two beautiful and elegant letters to churches within five different regions of the Roman Empire, that now make up the country we call Turkey.
Peter would write these letters because of a changing dynamic within the culture at large. Persecution had been a common theme within the life of the 30-year-old faith, but with Emperor Nero at the helm of Rome, this persecution was about to reach new heights. How should the members of these churches respond? How should they live in this new reality? What if anything does this have to do with us today?
